The Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP)
The Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP) is the venture space that leverages CGIAR’s legacy in research and innovation to co-design, accelerate, and de-risk the development and deployment of science-based solutions for sustainable agriculture and climate action. A4IP entrepreneurs pioneer models to bridge research products from lab to market, create demand for CGIAR science, and strengthen its role in the innovation ecosystem. The initiative plays a catalytic role for entrepreneurial scientists, startups, and other strategic partners driving innovation that will make our agri-food systems healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable.A4IP is an initiative powered by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT; a CGIAR research center.

Alliance Bioversity & CIAT
The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT delivers research-based solutions that address the global crises of malnutrition, climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation. The Alliance focuses on the nexus of agriculture, nutrition, and the environment. We work with local, national, and multinational partners across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and with the public and private sectors and civil society. With novel partnerships, the Alliance generates evidence and mainstreams innovations to transform food systems and landscapes so that they sustain the planet, drive prosperity, and nourish people in a climate crisis. The Alliance is part of CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food-secure future dedicated to transforming food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis.
ICARDA
The International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) and its international partners deliver innovative, evidence-based solutions for climate-smart food systems transformation. We improve food and nutrition security and generate livelihoods resilience for family-farmers grappling with climate change and man-made challenges, in the climate-vulnerable dry regions of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
IWMI
The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is an international, research-for-development organization that works with governments, civil society and the private sector to solve water problems in developing countries and scale up solutions. Through partnership, IWMI combines research on the sustainable use of water and land resources, knowledge services and products with capacity strengthening, dialogue and policy analysis to support implementation of water management solutions for agriculture, ecosystems, climate change and inclusive economic growth. Headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, IWMI is a CGIAR Research Center with Offices in 13 countries and a global network of scientists operating in more than 30 countries.

ESIAT
Founded in 1976, the Higher School of Food Industries of Tunis (ESIAT) is a public higher education institution under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Tunisia. With nearly 50 years of excellence, ESIAT has been a national reference center of excellence in food sciences and agri-food process engineering.
ESIAT’s mission is to train highly qualified engineers and professionals capable of addressing the challenges of food production, safety, and sustainability. The institution is committed to fostering innovation and applied research in partnership with industry, public institutions, and international organizations.
Through its academic programs and research initiatives, ESIAT contributes to strengthening Tunisia’s agri-food sector, promoting sustainable resource management, and supporting the country’s economic and social development
CIHEAM Bari
The CIHEAM Bari (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari) is one of the four institutes of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), an intergovernmental organization established in 1962. CIHEAM Bari promotes sustainable agriculture, food security, and inclusive rural development through higher education, research, technical cooperation, and policy dialogue. The Institute works closely with Mediterranean countries, international organizations, and research networks to foster innovation and knowledge transfer in the agri-food sector
Agritech Center (Fondazione Agritech)
National Research Centre for Agricultural Technologies (Agritech) is a structured organization which counts 47 founders reflecting the highest level of integration among a broad diversity of participating research institutions and private Companies. Agritech acts as the Hub managing complex projects focused on advanced technologies and facilitating deployment of research to national and international business contests. Agritech therefore plays a strategic role in the effectiveness of technology transfer based on sustainable development.
ALMACUBE
Almacube is the innovation hub and incubator of the University of Bologna, certified by the Ministry of Economic Development. Since 1999, it supports innovation and economic development in the territory, acting as a link between academic research and industry. Originally created to enhance the University's spin-offs, Almacube has broadened its impact thanks to business units which is made of: ● the Open Innovation Unit dedicated to guiding established companies in their innovation processes ● the Startup & Spin-off Unit focused on supporting the growth of start-ups and spin-offs through business and effective go-to-market strategies Due to a strategic and collaborative approach, Almacube addresses a heterogeneous audience that includes start-ups, SMEs, corporations and innovators. It actively involves students, young professionals, researchers and professors in programs based on advanced methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup and Human-centered innovation. Almacube enables the potential of academic research meeting the market needs by generating innovative and sustainable solutions for the future.
E4Impact
E4Impact is an initiative that supports the start-up and growth of new businesses in Africa. Established in collaboration with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), the Foundation has become a leading ecosystem player for entrepreneurship education, acceleration, and international cooperation across the African continent. E4Impact trains and supports impact-driven entrepreneurs in Africa, enabling them to launch, scale, and sustain businesses that generate economic growth, social impact, and employment opportunities.
PRIMA
PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) is a ten-year initiative (2018–2028) that brings together 20 Mediterranean countries and the EU to tackle pressing regional challenges intensified by climate change. Its core mission is to advance research and innovation in water management, sustainable agriculture, and food systems. With a total budget of €700 million, PRIMA operates primarily through competitive calls for proposals, supporting projects that deliver innovative solutions for inclusive, healthy, and resilient Mediterranean societies. These efforts aim to enhance local and regional competitiveness while promoting long-term sustainability. Since 2018, PRIMA has supported 269 projects with a total investment of approximately €401 million, fostering impactful, collaborative, science-based solutions across the Mediterranean basin.
BUSINESSMED
BUSINESSMED is a regional organization which gathers 22 Confederations of Employers' Organizations from 18 Northern and Southern Mediterranean countries. Created in 2002, it has become the main representative of the private sector of the Euromed region and a privileged platform for multilateral cooperation for the benefit of the employers’ confederations and more than 600,000 affiliated companies.
BUSINESSMED has developed a robust network and has a proven track record of facilitating exchanges between the EU and the MENA countries, demonstrating its capability to bridge diverse stakeholders and foster international cooperation. BUSINESSMED's lobbying activities have been instrumental in advocating for greater private sector involvement in governmental initiatives, showcasing its ability to drive policy change and influence decision-making processes.
CRAF
Climate Resilient Africa Fund (CRAF) is an impact venture fund backing early-stage African startups in the climate, food and agri-tech. CRAF backs seed stage African tech at the intersection of agriculture, climate and gender impact.
The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) is one of the specialized Arab organizations, functioning under the umbrella of the League of Arab States. As such, its members are all the member states of the Arab League. The organization's goals, stated upon its establishment, are defined on two dimensions: nationally as well as regionally. At the national level, AOAD is to assist member countries in developing and enhancing their respective agricultural sectors. At the regional level, AOAD is to facilitate coordination amongst member states in the agricultural sector, with the aim of achieving a fully integrated Arab economy union, and food self-sufficiency.
